Basic Schedule for the Manatee Trip
Thursday Jan. 2nd
Arrive at the Rental House in Dunnellon, FL any time after
5:00pm. Orientation to Rainbow River etc. after arrival.
Friday Jan. 3rd
Unlimited diving on Rainbow River. Shore dives can be made
directly from the rental property, or a river taxi can shuttle divers
up river for a longer drift dive. Student checkout dives will take
place directly in front of the rental property.
Saturday Jan. 4th
Meet at American Pro Dive Center in Crystal River at 7:00am to
swim with the Manatee. The boat will return at around 11:00am.
The rest of the day can be spent diving Rainbow River, or just
relaxing. Student checkout dives will take place directly in front
of the property.
Sunday Jan. 5th
Checkout of the rental house before 11:00am, and drive back to
Tennessee. The rental house comes with kayaks and
paddleboards for use by the quests. Meals and transportation are
not included, but there is a grocery store 2 miles away. There is
a full kitchen, and outdoor grill for use by the guests.
We're taking $100 Deposits for this Very Cool Trip!
Payment In-Full is due by 12/5/19.

Rainbow River Dive Information
From the property you can enjoy around a mile drift dive down
to "KP Hole State Park". If you choose to take the water taxi
up river, the drift dive is around 2 miles to KP Hole. The
average depth of the river is around 20ft. with numerous springs,
sand boils, and "a ton" of things to see. Dive flags are required
and will be provided. Water temperature is 72 degrees, so do
plan accordingly.
Crystal River Information
The water in Crystal River is also a constant 72 degrees, so
please bring exposure protection along with your mask, snorkel
and fins. The Manatee like to huddle around warm freshwater
springs as the weather turns cold in order to maintain their body
temperature. The springs in this area are shallow so Scuba in not
needed. All orientations and safety briefings will be conducted
after we arrive at American Pro.
